Top 10 Catchy TV Show Theme Songs

Being a TV show nerd over these years has made me realize that the intro songs they use are designed to be extremely unique and to stick in the viewers head. So that no matter how many times viewers have to listen to them again, they never get tired. Here is a list of some of the most catchiest TV show themes I have found so far. Don’t worry I haven’t included The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones in the list, as most of you already know about them.

10

HBO’s Rome Theme

The first time I heard this theme, I knew that whatever comes next would be something special, not many songs can give that feeling. This theme is a combination of drums and an extremely good orchestra, trying to go for an ancient roman feel; which must have been difficult as that time was not known for being the most musically creative time period in history. They still managed to pull off something magical.

9

Xena The Warrior Princess

Another “old” styled theme, it has amazing vocals and the song reminds me of those calm Celtic songs but this one is with a twist. Listen to the whole song to get the proper feel.

8

NCIS

And now for something completely different. The theme song has a very upbeat techno vibe to it, but it gets the feel of the show right. Let me warn you this one is a total ear worm.

7

Catdog

I used to love this show, it was chaotic, messy and pretty nonsensical; but all of that in a good way.  The theme has a fast country song vibe to it, way better than what “country” songs we get from Taylor Swift these days.

6

Doc Who

This is a pretty old show (started in 1963) but its theme song hasn’t changed much over the years. The violin and that creepy sound they through in occasionally, matches up perfectly.  One of the best theme song I have heard, if you haven’t heard it before, then try listening to the whole thing the crescendo is magnificent.

Happy Days

I will be frank here, I haven’t seen the show at all. If I time travel to the 80’s this is the kind of song I would expect to find on my radio. It’s really catchy and really upbeat, this one matches perfectly with what I would expect the show to be about (happy stuff?).

4

Fresh Prince

The song is a good pop single on its own right, probably the best song by Will Smith other than “Switch“. The song has a nice hip hop vibe to it, just listen to it.

3

Pokemon

Another old childhood favorite, I bet everyone can sing along with the theme. If you think about it, this song was the “Call me maybe” of our childhoods, you hear it somewhere and everyone starts singing along. Gotta be the very best…

2

Kenan and Kel

This song by Coolio with its memorable starting beat, is one of those themes you can dance to. The show for me was too similar to Drake and Josh (which was like the white version of this show), so in the end ruined both for me, the theme is still really good though.

Boardwalk empire

Best for last, probably the most recent entry on the list. It has a really nice guitar riffs which reminds me of Beach Boys for some reason. This one I wont rant about, enjoy this song.
